The Elements and Your Career

Thursday, June 26, 7:00 p.m., by Jill Lander, Golden Elements

This fascinating topic will be an extract adapted from the 'Four Pillars of Destiny' analysis for those already established or considering a change within their careers. According to Jill, we all hold our personal 'Pillars of Destiny' so the talk will relate to all and is a very accurate form of divination, which enables us to be aware of our life's journey.
So what are our Pillars of Destiny?

When we are born we are represented by eight Chinese characters, two from each of the year, month, day and hour of our birth. These make up our personal four Pillars or ' Elemental basket' and each Pillar influences an aspect of our lives. In turn, each of the four Pillars comes under the influence of the '5 Elements', which can be either favourable or unfavourable to our personal welfare and within the Universe there are the five elements: Metal - Water - Wood - Fire - Earth

Striking the right balance through the journey of life is not easy. Knowing the elements that affect us during the various phases of our journey allows action to be taken to make this as comfortable and as productive for us as possible.

About the Presenter

Jill has lived in Hong Kong for 25 years. From the very moment she arrived she felt a connection and great affinity with the East. This feeling has grown over the years whilst she has shared in her family's growing experiences within the tapestry of cultures and traditions. For the past 10 years Jill has examined and practiced many forms of alternative therapies, being fortunate enough to have found some excellent teachers. This led her to develop her fascination with Feng Shui, which quickly turned into a deep respect and understanding of this science. Jill's Feng Shui studies have not been confined to Hong Kong, she has also studied in Singapore and Malaysia.

"Circle of Excellence"

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a model of communication that focuses on identifying and using patterns of thought that influence a person's behaviour as a means of improving the quality and effectiveness of their lives. It offers a paradigm of how the brain works (neuro), about how language interacts with the brain (linguistic), and how we use this interaction to get the results we want for ourselves and others (programming). It is an effective, proven vehicle for accelerated human change, radically altering the "old way" of lengthy psychotherapy.

NLP was initially created by linguist Dr. John Grinder and computer scientist and Gestalt therapist Dr. Richard Bandler. Together they produced a linguistic model that identified the language patterns of a few gifted individuals such as hypnotherapist Milton Erickson, MD., Fritz Perls of Gestalt therapy, anthropologist Gregory Bateson and Virginia Satir of family systems therapy. The synthesis of their findings, a blend of cognitive and behavioural science, resulted in the technology known as Neuro Linguistic Programming. In the 20+ years since it was first developed, NLP has grown, changed and expanded, and it continues to do so today.

What would it be like if you could utilize your most powerful learning experiences in order to boost your confidence and state of mind in dealing with life's situations? Many people psychologically "fail" before they try to succeed. The "Circle of Excellence" enables people to access their mind's potential at any time. Your state of mind is the key to excellence. Come and create your "circle of excellence", and discover the amazing power you have within.

Objective: To enable people to access their inner resources in order to reach their potential

Program for the evening:

  • Introduction to Neuro-Linguistic Programming
  • What is the "Circle of Excellence"?
  • How can this NLP module help us at work and in our career?
  • What do we need to develop this circle?
  • Everyone is able to develop his/her "Circle of Excellence". What are the possible outcomes?
  • Interactive session to show how to use NLP's "Circle of Excellence" in your own life

End Result: Each person can create his/her own "Circle of Excellence".

Rebecca Szeto was introduced to Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) in 1987 and is a master practitioner of NLP (Judith Deloizer, NLP University). Besides her interest in NLP, she has a corporate and IT background of over 18 years. Rebecca has a Master's Degree in Information Systems and a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, Canada. A few years ago, she travelled to Europe to study Systemic Constellations from its originator and prominent practitioners. Currently, she provides innovative and intelligent solutions for businesses in Europe and in Asia.
