Mentoring Program November Chat & Share
Thursday, November 10th
"Women in Diversity"
Guest Speaker - Christine Ng, IBM Asia Pacific
Business Area Executive, Digital Media & Wireless, Small & Medium Business
The success of global business hinges on the marketplace. IBM knows that the customer base is diverse, and that people are more inclined to do business with you if they see others like them in your organization. The link between a diverse workforce and marketplace success is increasing.
IBM's definition of diversity includes all human characteristics that make us unique as individuals. Race, gender, geographic origin, culture, lifestyle, age, disability, sexual orientation, economic status, marital status, and religion are just some of the characteristics that define us as people.
With 29 years of IT experience, Christine manages two of the high growth and dynamic emerging business areas at IBM - wireless pervasive and digital media. With extensive management experience at IBM and head of the Diversity Council, an initiative to make IBM a more women-friendly working environment, Christine will share with us both her IBM experience and knowledge on diversity to help broaden our understanding and perspective on the subject.
Christine is also a participant at the Community Business Diversity & Inclusion Conference in November, to which BPW is a supporting organization. She will share with us briefly her involvement in that conference – work/life balance initiatives at IBM.
We thank Christine Ng and IBM for hosting this talk at their office.
