[ 25th Anniversary ]-[ Beginnings of HKABPW ]-[ Career Development for Women ]-[ Corporate Sponsors & Supporters ] 25th Anniversary HKABPW 25th Anniversary Booklet Wins Award of Excellence
APEXTM Awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial design, editorial content and the ability to achieve overall communications excellence. With close to 5,000 entries, competition was exceptionally intense. 100 Grand Awards were presented to honour outstanding work in all 11 major categories with 1,523 Awards of Excellence recognising exceptional entries in 109 subcategories. Most of the entries were from the US and Canada, and the Hong Kong Association of Business and Professional Women’s was one of the few from Asia. Celebrating 25 Years in Hong Kong, Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004 The Hong Kong Association of Business and Professional Women (HKABPW) celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the Association in October 2004. To celebrate the Association’s 25 years in Hong Kong the Association planned a gala evening on Thursday, October 28 at The Helena May. First, there was a cocktail reception featuring our special guests Anson Chan, former Chief Secretary; Anna Wu, Advisor to the Law School, Shantou University and former Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Commission; and Maria Tam, Hong Kong representative to the National People’s Congress and the first president of HKABPW. Following the cocktail reception, there was a BPW dinner in which Christine Loh, CEO of Civic Exchange and former legislative councillor, and Emily Lau, legislative councillor spoke. The Association had over 150 guests at the special cocktail reception, and several of the past presidents flew in from around the world for this auspicious occasion. Overseas BPW guests came from China, Taiwan, Austria, the UK, Spain and France. To highlight the past 25 years in Hong Kong, the 25th Anniversary Committee produced a 36-page commemorative publication which detailed HKABPW's contribution, in the fields of legislation and education, towards raising the status of women within Hong Kong and widening the educational opportunities available to them. The Association is grateful for the corporate support of Cathay Pacific, Citigroup, Clarins, CLP Power, Crown Asset Management Limited, Financial Partners International, Lan Kwai Fong Holdings, and Sara Beattie College.
