Topic: Women's Health Issues and Managing Stress-Living and Working in Hong Kong -
with Dr. Jenny Anderson and Carolyn Neunuebel

Women's health and stress management are two very important topics for women nowadays. Our bodies change from decade to decade and on top of that living and working in Hong Kong can be very stressful trying to juggle family, life, business travel and careers. Each of our medical professionals, respectively, will discuss how to deal with how our bodies change as we get older and after child-bearing, and how to cope with daily stress from living in an international city. Question and Answer period will follow the individual talks.

Dr. Jennifer Anderson MB ChB DO is a Family Physician who has resided in Hong Kong for nine years and currently is a Family Physician. She has a special interest in women's health and problems, and also preventative medicine.

Ms. Carolyn Neunuebel, R.N. trained as a Registered Nurse in the US, and completed her master degree in Counseling in 1987. She has been practicing in Hong Kong for 13 years. She also lectures at Hong Kong Shue Yan College on Physiological Psychology. Her private practice deals with problems of depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and marital and sexual problems. She titles herself as "De-stressing Stress".

HKABPW's 22nd International Women's Day Luncheon and Fundraising Event for HKABPW Bursary

Topic: "Success Strategies of Women Working Internationally"

The luncheon is HKABPW's annual fundraiser for the HKABPW Bursary Fund which is awarded to a young woman studying in an untraditional field of study on a yearly basis. All BPWs around the world award this annual bursary to a young woman in their country. Our 2001 bursary recipient, who is studying industrial engineering at City University, will be introduced.

These outstanding women of diverse backgrounds and disciplines will share their experience on living and working in different cultures. Learn how each has dealt with difficult situations and cultural diversity. The panel includes:

Frederique Deleage, Founder and Managing Director, Frederique Holistic Health & Beauty Group Frederique founded her Original French Beauty School and Salon in Hong Kong in 1977. Her pioneering spirit has been instrumental in the growth of her holistic health and spa movement in Hong Kong.

Darcy Neill, Managing Director, Kellert Enterprises Originally, from the USA, Darcy has been involved in consulting and training for over 25 years and has lived and worked in Morocco, Thailand, Japan and Hong Kong since l984.

Kelly Cheng Kit Yin, CEO and Chairman of GreaterChina Technology Group Limited. Kelly has over 22 years' experience in banking, auditing and finance.

Gigi Wang, CEO and Founder of AsiaQuest. Gigi has an extensive background in service provider and networking companies - both Global 500 and start-ups. She is the Program Chair for the MIT/Stanford Venture Lab in the Silicon Valley in the USA.

Moderator: Anna J H Fang, President, HKABPW, and Marketing and Communications Manager, Motorola University Asia Pacific, Motorola Asia Pacific Limited. Anna has worked in the USA, China and Hong Kong in public relations and marketing communications for over 18 years.

Topic: Wine Connoisseur's Evening - How W's Entrecote Began as a Concept for a Restaurant and the Healthful Benefits of Wine Drinking.

Featured Speakers:
Wilson Kwok
, Restaurateur and Owner of W's Entrecote Mr. Kwok will speak about how to operate a restaurant in Hong Kong and in turn, appreciate what W's Group of restaurants is doing for the public. He regularly lectures on wine appreciation at his own wine club Oenoclub and is a columnist for SCMP's "Wine Regions of the World." He is the chairman of the W's Group of restaurants in Hong Kong and is a longtime wine connoisseur. Mr. Kwok is a recipient of the Chevalier de l'Ordre de Merite Agricole and was knighted by the French Agricultural Ministry in 1997.

Miranda Wong, Foods and Nutrition Specialist Her professional experience includes being a hospital and health club dietitian, to nutritionist for a large multinational corporation to being Regional Representative of Meats (Asia Pacific) and Agriculture/Agri-food specialist for the Hong Kong and South China regions. She wrote the first 2-week reducing diet for men and women using local ingredients for Chinese recipes in 1986. She has been the Vice President of the Hong Kong Nutrition Association since 1990 and a long time executive committee member of the Association of Hong Kong Gerontology. Miranda is featured on "Gourmet Internet" every Tuesday morning on RTHK Radio 5. She is also our PR/Publicity Convenor for the Hong Kong Association of Business and Professional Women.

Landmark Atrium

"Le Petit Louvre" Le Petit Louvre returns to Hong Kong to present an exquisite collection of Castings of Masterpieces made by the Louvre and Rodin Museum in Paris. These Castings will be shown at the Landmark Atrium from May 18-May 31.

Building on last year's successful Asian Tour, the aim of Le Petit Louvre is to promote the French Heritage throughout the region and to make art accessible to people through cultural exchange between France and Asia. Besides the castings, some 25 paintings will be presented at this year's exhibition offering serious collectors with an opportunity to own reproduction paintings made by copyists at the Louvre Museum or the Orsay Museum.

The HKABPW has been chosen by Le Petit Louvre for a private showing and it's free admission to this cultural event. Tour lasts 25 minutes (7:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m.) and then, a group dinner is planned in Lan Kwai Fong afterwards.

HKABPW Annual General Meeting

Special Keynote Speaker, Mrs. Sophie Lau, Chairperson of the Women's Commission to speak on the goals and accomplishments of the Women's Commission. She will focus on the problem of gender-mainstreaming, empowering women in the HKSAR, and the promotion of women's issues.

Mrs. Leung was appointed by the HKSAR Government as the Chairperson of the newly established Women's Commission in early 2001. Mrs. Leung has contributed not only to promoting the well being and interests of women in Hong Kong, but also to strengthening linkages with women's organizations overseas to help assure Hong Kong's standing as a world class city. This dinner meeting is also the Annual General Meeting.
